パルス / Pulse (27.3 × 27.3 × 2 cm / 10.75 × 10.75 × 0.75 inches)

For me, creation always begins with color.
Weathered by rain and wind, changed by time, worn or decayed — fallen leaves, rusted iron, peeling walls, sun-faded paper. The examples are endless, but within them, I often find colors and expressions I consider beautiful. This piece was made by gathering these small, pulse-like stirrings of the heart, one by one.

There is also a work of the same title created in watercolor.

A Work That Changes Over Time: The artist is a painter, and Urushi is used not as a traditional craft material, but specifically as a painting medium.Created with natural materials—Urushi—this work transforms its expression over time. Urushi increases in saturation when exposed to ultraviolet light, but this change varies depending on the environment and conditions. It cannot be predicted with certainty. This unpredictability is precisely the charm of a unique work made with natural materials. We hope you will embrace and enjoy these changes over time, experiencing the work as a companion through the years.
