Was that a beginning, or an ending?
There are so many things we only come to understand in hindsight. This has been true in the past, and surely will be in the future.
The Japanese word Ake (明け) holds the meanings of both beginning and ending. While we are in the midst of it, the true meaning often remains hidden. It is only after we have run our course that we realize the profound value of every step in the process.
What matters is that every single moment is an essential piece of the story. I hope to remain someone who can embrace and affirm every step of the journey—all that has been, and all that is yet to come.

A Work That Changes Over Time: The artist is a painter, and Urushi is used not as a traditional craft material, but specifically as a painting medium.Created with natural materials—Urushi—this work transforms its expression over time. Urushi increases in saturation when exposed to ultraviolet light, but this change varies depending on the environment and conditions. It cannot be predicted with certainty. This unpredictability is precisely the charm of a unique work made with natural materials. We hope you will embrace and enjoy these changes over time, experiencing the work as a companion through the years.
